Masia Egara – natural wedding photography in one of the best venues in Barcelona.

Masia Egara is not just a place to celebrate weddings, it is a space with history, surrounded by nature, and with an incredible light that invites you to celebrate an elegant and sophisticated wedding while intimate and full of details. As a wedding photographer in Barcelona I have worked in many spectacular venues near the city, but few have the charm and versatility of this place, believe me.

Today I want to show you what Masia Egara is like from the inside, from my point of view as a wedding photographer. If you are thinking about getting married here, or you are just exploring spaces with soul near Barcelona, this post is for you.

Where is Masia Egara?

Located in Terrassa, just 20 minutes from Barcelona, Masia Egara is surrounded by 300 hectares of forest and gardens. When you arrive, you feel like you are disconnecting from the world… total privacy, spectacular views and a quiet and natural environment where you can celebrate your wedding.

In addition, the place has a microclimate that makes outdoor weddings in summer a real luxury, being surrounded by nature offers a pleasant temperature and mountain breeze that are the perfect environment for an outdoor wedding in one of its multiple gardens or terraces.

Masia Egara stands out for its elegance and intimate atmosphere.

Masia Egara dates from the sixteenth century and has been restored with great taste and detail, offering multiple spaces for each part of the celebration, thus differentiating the different areas of the wedding to give a sense of spaciousness and evolution to all guests. From its spacious halls to its gardens, no place in this wedding venue in Barcelona will go unnoticed, and all of them will inspire you to create something wonderful.

Masia Egara combines the classic Catalan style with a very lively and current energy. It is perfect for couples looking for an authentic wedding, natural and full of real emotions. Also if you have the organization and decoration of a wedding planner you can give your personal touch to each space. As a wedding photographer in Barcelona I have worked with many, for this case I recommend Nubes de Algodón events.

My experience as wedding photographer at Masia Egara

What I enjoy most about working at Masia Egara is how it suits my documentary and natural style. There is an incredible variety of lighting and settings that allow me to capture every moment honestly, but we also have room for a few more artistic portraits and poses, Masia Egara is that versatile.
Here I have experienced everything from emotional ceremonies of just 20 people, to unforgettable parties under verbena lights in the main courtyard. Each wedding at Masia Egara is unique, but they all have something in common… the connection between people, and that magical environment that surrounds it.

Tips if you are thinking of celebrating your wedding at Masia Egara

Time of year

The best season to celebrate your wedding at Masia Egara is undoubtedly from June to September, anyway contact the staff of Masia Egara and explain your idea of a possible date so they can advise you on availability.

Morning or afternoon wedding?

Masia Egara has a beautiful light, especially in the golden hours. I recommend organizing the ceremony in the afternoon to take advantage of the warm sunset light that favors so much in the photos, in addition, its gardens allow you to play with soft shadows and green reflections that give a magical touch to each photograph. 💡 Photography tip: Try to leave some time before the cocktail for an intimate couple’s session with that last minute light. It doesn’t take much time, just a couple of walks through the gardens and the result is brutal.

Choosing the right decoration is fundamental

This wedding venue in Barcelona is beautiful on its own. The century-old trees, the wooden doors, the ivy-covered walls, and the manor house create a perfect rustic-elegant aesthetic. A sober and well thought out decoration (wild flowers, candles, natural touches) works much better than overloading the spaces. 💡 From my camera: The most visually beautiful weddings I’ve photographed here have been the ones that have let the space breathe. Some nice chairs, floral centerpieces with movement and warm light… and everything flows.

Venue for the ceremony

There are several areas where to have the ceremony at Masia Egara. Some couples opt for the main garden, others for more secluded corners. My advice is to choose the place where the light is soft and does not fall directly on the face during the ceremony at the time of year you choose. 💡 From my experience: A ceremony in shade or with trees filtering light always gives better photos and also more comfort for you and your guests, so you will not be closing your eyes all the time.

The party!

The party area can look beautiful with warm lighting such as garlands of light bulbs, candles or indirect lighting… this completely transforms the ambiance and gives a spectacular look to the night’s photos. A DJ or band that understands the rhythm of the event is also key so that the dance floor doesn’t get empty. Here is the link to the main website of your music events.
